Streets Department Schedules Roadway Repairs for Frankford Avenue

Temporary closures scheduled Tuesday, September 24th

PHILADELPHIA – Roadway repairs are scheduled for Frankford Avenue between Lehigh and Girard Avenues on Tuesday, September 24th, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. Temporary roadway restrictions are in effect between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. This work will result in intermittent closures to vehicular traffic. Motorists are encouraged to use Aramingo Avenue as alternate route.

Detour signs will not be posted for the duration of the closure. The Streets Department will coordinate with SEPTA around the scheduled work.

The temporary intermittent closures will allow Streets Department employees to safely make repairs throughout the stretch of roadway. This work has been scheduled during the evening hours in order to expedite the repairs and minimize the disruption to businesses and motorists.

All work will be completed with traffic restored by 10 p.m.  For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians.  The Streets Department thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
