Kelly Drive Overnight Maintenance Work Wed. Oct 3rd

Temporary closure scheduled for Wednesday, October 3rd

PHILADELPHIA – Kelly Drive between Hunting Park Avenue and S. Ferry Road will be closed to traffic overnight announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. The following temporary restrictions are scheduled to be in effect from approximately 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3rd through 5:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4th:

• Southbound traffic on Kelly Drive will be stopped at South Ferry Road. At Ridge Avenue take a Right to W. Indiana Avenue and then a Left to W. Hunting Park Avenue to avoid the closure.

• Northbound traffic on Kelly Drive will be stopped at Hunting Park Avenue. Hunting Park Avenue can be taken to W. Allegheny Avenue. Take a Left on Allegheny to Ridge Avenue – and then a Right to Midvale Avenue to avoid the closure.

• The pedestrian/bicycle path along the river will also be affected by the project. Alternative routes for recreation are strongly encouraged.

The temporary partial closure will allow City employees to repair concrete “Jersey” barriers along the roadway. This work has been scheduled for night time hours in order to expedite the repairs, minimize disruption to motorists and pedestrians, and provide a safe work environment for the work crew. All work should be completed and traffic should be restored by 5:00 a.m. for the morning “Rush Hour”. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project. # # #
