Inspection Work on Roosevelt Blvd. Extension (US 1) - Temp. Closures Ridge to Wissahickon

Temporary closures scheduled for Monday, September 24th

PHILADELPHIA – Intermittent lane closures are scheduled for the Roosevelt Boulevard Extension (US-1), between Ridge Avenue and Wissahickon Avenue, during the overnight hours of Monday, September 24th, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams.  The following temporary restrictions are scheduled to be in effect from approximately 9:00 p.m. Monday through 5:00 a.m. Tuesday:

  • Northbound traffic will be restricted to the two left lanes at a point north of the Ridge Avenue entrance to US-1.  The restriction will be lifted north of the Fox Street overpass.
  • Southbound traffic will be restricted to the two left lanes at a point near the Fox Street exit ramp.  The restriction will be lifted south of the Fox Street overpass. Traffic on Fox Street will not be impacted by this project.

This temporary closure will allow Streets Department employees to safely complete an inspection of the Fox Street Bridge over US-1.  This work has been scheduled for night time hours in order to expedite the work and minimize the disruption to motorists.  Police Department assistance will be on site to help maintain a safe traffic flow in the area.

Work will be completed by 5:00 a.m. for the morning “Rush Hour”.  For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers.  The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
