Lincoln Drive Restoration Project: Overnight Lane Closures Resume

PHILADELPHIA – An update to the work schedule for the Lincoln Drive Restoration Project includes the continuation of a series of closures to allow for roadway improvements, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. The closures and subsequent work are weather permitting.

Beginning Tuesday, May 19th overnight closures are scheduled between Ridge and Wayne Avenues on weekdays during the hours of 9pm to 6am. The work will involve full, temporary closures of the roadway in one or both directions. Motorists may use Ridge Avenue or Walnut Lane as alternate routes. Detour routes will be posted for the duration of the closure. Should the work be completed sooner, roadway restrictions will be lifted accordingly.

The temporary closures will allow Streets Department employees and its contractors to safely access areas scheduled for work on the roadway. Work includes roadway reflector placement, final line striping, inlets to be reset and remaining asphalt work to be completed.  Guide rail installation is anticipated to follow.

This work has been scheduled during the evening and into overnight hours to provide the best protection for employees, expedite repairs and minimize the disruption to motorists. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected motorists.  The Streets Department thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation.
