34th Street, Mantua to Girard, Closed for Resurfacing, September 26th

PHILADELPHIA - 34th St from Girard Ave to Mantua Ave will close intermittently beginning overnight Friday, September 25 at midnight through Saturday, Saturday, September 26 at 3 p.m. announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. The temporary closures will allow Streets Departments crews to safely perform scheduled resurfacing and line striping.

Motorists are encouraged to use 33rd Street or 40th Street as alternate routes during the project.  Access to the Philadelphia Zoo will be allowed.

If the work is completed sooner than anticipated, the road will be opened ahead of schedule. This work has been scheduled for overnight and daytime Saturday hours in order to expedite the process, minimize disruption to motorists, and provide a safe work environment for the work crew.

All work will be completed and traffic will be restored by 3:00 p.m. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, residents, and businesses.  The Streets Department thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
