Inter City Bus

We allow intercity buses (for hire buses travelling between Philadelphia and other cities) to obtain permits for curbside parking spaces for their operation.  Each 60 foot zone requires agreement from neighborhoods, proposed schedules, proof of proper local and federal licensing, and a $5000 annual fee.  Each company has to re-apply at the beginning of each year with a safety report and the renewal check.  Bus zones permit applications are evaluated internally based on the standards set forth in the adopted regulations pursuant to the City Code.  To date there are 9 such 60’ zones in 7 locations around the City.  The primary applicants are Mega Bus, BoltBus, and various Chinatown bus operators.
