Help keep our City clean and green by recycling cartons and keeping them out of the trash.
Learn More About Carton Recycling!
Find out what happens to your recycled food and drink cartons. When the contents are gone, let the carton live on!
It's easy. Just put your clean, empty cartons in a recycling bin along with your bottles, cans, and other recyclables.
Recycle every week: Same day as trash day.
Put your cartons and all other recyclables together in one or more hard-sided container(s) marked "Recycling." Use as many containers as you need up to 32 gallons in size. Do not use paper or plastic bags, or cardboard boxes, as containers.
What Happens to My Recycled Cartons?
Recycled cartons are turned into everyday products like paper towels, napkins, tissue paper, and even building materials.
Spread the Word!
Tell your neighbors, friends, and family that when the carton package is empty, it still has a second life. Remember - When the contents are gone, let the carton live on.
Philadelphia Recycles Cartons Month is a partnership between the Philadelphia Streets Department and the Carton Council. Look out for additional information in the mail and in your local newspaper, on the radio, and at subway stations and bus shelters.
Not only does carton recycling help our City, but it can help you too. By recycling cartons, you can earn more Philadelphia Recycling points, which can be redeemed to purchase other exciting products and gifts.
