STREETS DEPARTMENT SCHEDULES MAINTENANCE WORK ON KREWSTOWN ROAD

Temporary closure scheduled for Saturday, January 21

PHILADELPHIA – Krewstown Road between Algon Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue will be closed from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, Acting Streets Commissioner Michael A. Carroll announced today.  The following temporary full-closure is scheduled to be in effect throughout the day:  If the work is completed sooner than anticipated, the road will be opened ahead of schedule.

  • Northbound traffic on Krewstown Road will be blocked at Algon Avenue.  No detour will be posted for this short-term closure.  Bustleton Avenue and Verree Road parallel Krewstown Road and can be used as detours of this closure.
  • Southbound traffic will be blocked at Bloomfield Avenue.  No detour will be posted for this short-term closure.  Bustleton Avenue and Verree Road parallel Krewstown Road and can be used as detours of this closure.
  • SEPTA bus traffic and emergency vehicles will be permitted through the work zone to minimize disruption to mass transit and maintain safety.

 

The temporary closure will allow City employees to complete repairs to the guiderail along this winding road.  All work is expected to be completed and traffic restored by 4:00 PM.  The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
