STREETS DEPARTMENT SCHEDULES MAINTENANCE WORK ON FRANKFORD AVENUE

Intermittent closures scheduled for Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA – Parts of Frankford Avenue between Lehigh and Girard Avenues will close intermittently Tuesday, May 15th, between 4:00PM and 10:00PM. Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced the Department’s plans to repair a variety of street defects on the stretch of roadway. Motorists are encouraged to use Kensington Avenue or Front Street as an alternate means for travel. SEPTA bus routes impacted by the closures will detour for the duration of the scheduled maintenance work.

Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. The intermittent closures will allow employees to safely address the street defects.  Weather permitting, all work will be completed and traffic restored the same evening. The Streets Department thanks residents and visitors in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
