On Friday, November 10, Mayor James Kenney joined Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams and the Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC) in announcing the top four winners of the annual Clean Block Contest. The announcement was made at the IATSE Ballroom located at 2401 Swanson Street.

EMERGENCY TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF RACE AND LOCUST STREET GRADE CROSSINGS TO THE SCHUYLKILL TRAIL
PHILADELPHIA – Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced today the grade crossings at Race and Locust Streets gates to the Schuylkill Trail will be closed and locked beginning Tuesday, August 1 at 7:00 am for approximately one week.

20,600+ Philadelphians Take Part in 10th Annual Philly Spring Cleanup
Philadelphia’s 10th Annual Philly Spring Cleanup was a resounding success, with more than 20,600 Philadelphians completing 825 confirmed cleanups throughout the City. The volunteers collected 649,000 lbs. of trash, 2,000 lbs. of yard waste, and more than 7,300 lbs. of recyclable materials – in a single day!
