A Snow Emergency will be declared for the City of Philadelphia beginning at 10:00 pm, Sunday, March 2. All parked vehicles must be moved off Snow Emergency routes by 10pm. Cars left on Snow Emergency routes will be ticketed and/or relocated to accommodate plowing operations. If your car is relocated, call 215-686-SNOW (7669) to find it.
SANITATION UPDATE - March 2, 2014
Due to the pending snow storm expected to begin late Sunday, March 2, Sanitation trucks will be diverted to snow operations. Monday's trash and recycling collections will be suspended. Residents whose collection day is Monday must hold their collections until next Monday. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank citizens in advance for their patience. The forecast snow accumulations will require Sanitation trucks to fitted with plows to assist with snow operations.
SANITATION UPDATE - February 28, 2014
For the week of February 24 residents should set out their trash and recyclables on their regularly scheduled collection day at their normal pickup location. If collections are not picked up on the regular day they will be picked up the next morning. Due to the double volume of Tuesday collections, crews will be running a half day behind schedule for the week.
Crews are attempting to get to all driveway collections this week. Any driveway collections missed because of ice will be picked up when the driveways clear. If rear driveways are still too icy for Sanitation trucks to safely travel on, materials will be collected when the driveways are passable.
Crews will be working through the weekend to collect delayed collections.
WEATHER UPDATE - February 17, 2014
Due to the pending snow storm expected to begin early Tuesday, February 18, Sanitation trucks will be diverted to snow operations. Tuesday trash and recycling collections will be suspended. Residents whose collection day is Tuesday must hold their collections until next week. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank citizens in advance for their patience. The forecast snow accumulations will require Sanitation trucks to fitted with plows to assist with snow.
Monday collections that were not collected will be picked up on Wednesday, February 19. Crews had difficulty maneuvering over snow mounds and had to prepare Sanitation trucks to be outfitted with plows for Tuesday's storm.
SNOW UPDATE - February 14, 2014
The Snow Emergency was lifted at 2pm on 2/14/14. Vehicles are permitted to be parked on the Snow Emergency Routes after 2pm. To report a street for salting and/or plowing along with non-shoveled sidewalks in front of residences and businesses, please contact 311.
