Mrs. Ida Massey, a senior citizen, called us to let us know that the crew that services her street are very sweet, kind and helpful. Her story is that her husband was going out of their house (1000 block of Bingham Street), tripped and fell, hurting himself enough to be taken to the hospital. The crew had just taken the trash from the next door neighbor’s house, and saw Mr. Massey fall. They helped him up and offered to call 911, but Mrs. Massey said they didn’t need to. She called her daughter to take Mr. Massey and her to Holy Redeemer Hospital. Mrs. Massey is 86 years young, and her husband is 88 years young. They wanted to thank the Streets Department for the kindness and assistance offered by the crew towards her and her husband in a moment of need.

This past Monday, the weather was miserable--wind and rain. Lots of trash had blown out of recycling bins. The recycling crew on my block--3400 Ainslie St. in East Falls--did a great job picking up just about every piece of trash on the street. Thank you

Thank you very much Ms. Kyaw and thanks to the Streets Department for improving your customer service.

I'm not sure who this gentleman is in the black hoodie, but I'd like to give him some credit. My neighbors from the 4200 block of Fairdale Road must have forgotten to put their trash down at the curb and he came up their driveway, grabbed their cans and dumped them in the truck. As cold as it is outside he still went above and beyond. You did not have to do that but you did....thank you!
