DONATE YOUR OLD COMPUTER TO NEW USERS

The City and the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) have joined forces to create the Freedom Rings Partnership – a major citywide campaign that will provide Internet access and computer training to low-income residents across the city.

In order to ensure success, we need your help. We're urging Philadelphians to donate their used, undamaged computer. Computers must be from 2001 or newer, as well as Pentium 4/Apple G4 or better.*

The City and UAC will refurbish the donated computers and give them to local community organizations at the 2011 Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service on January 17 at Girard College.

How to donate your computer

To donate your computer, simply drop it off during normal business hours at the Mayor's Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service – located in City Hall, Room 112 (Use the Visitor's Entrance at the NE Corner of City Hall).

If you are planning to drop off your computer after normal business hours, please call 215-686-0317 to make arrangements.

For donations of 5 or more computers, please contact Catie C. Wolfgang at 215-686-0317 to arrange for them to be picked up.

Your donation can help bring needy Philadelphians into the digital age. Thank you for your generosity.

* Unfortunately, we won't be able to accept older computers that do not meet these specifications.
