PRESS RELEASE: TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURE OF PARKSIDE AVENUE FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13TH


Motorists advised of temporary detours

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Parkside Avenue from Bryn Mawr Ave to Wynnefield Ave will close to all vehicular traffic on Wednesday, June 13th, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM for resurfacing work, Streets Commissioner Clarena I. W. Tolson announced today. If the work is completed sooner than expected, the roadway may open earlier.

The temporary closure will allow crews to safely perform their work. A full closure has been scheduled in order to expedite resurfacing and minimize disruption to the motoring public. For the duration of the work, the Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected residents and businesses. Detours will be posted and flagmen will be on site to assist. Citizens are urged to plan ahead and use alternative routes when traveling in the area.

The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.

15th STREET BRIDGE BETWEEN CALLOWHILL
AND SPRING GARDEN STREETS CLOSURE
Effective Wednesday, January 16

PHILADELPHIA - Effective Wednesday, January 16, the 15th Street Bridge between Callowhill and Spring Garden Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic, Streets Commissioner Clarena I. W. Tolson announced today. The closure is necessary in response to a routine inspection that found structural damage to the bridge.

The closure is effective for the entire length of the bridge and will be closed to vehicular traffic until further notice, however, pedestrians and bicycles will be permitted to cross. The posted detour route includes Broad Street from Spring Garden Street to Callowill Street.

The Streets Department regrets any inconvenience resulting from this closure. We would like to thank citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation. It is our goal to have the bridge opened as soon as possible.
