PRESS RELEASE: STREETS DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES FOR UPCOMING STREET RESURFACING IN CENTER CITY
Beginning Monday, September 24
Philadelphia, PA – Streets Commissioner Clarena Tolson announced today that starting on Monday, September 24, there will be street closures and parking restrictions for the next two to three weeks, weather permitting, for street resurfacing operations. The work will include milling, adjusting of manhole covers, resetting of utility boxes, and paving in Center City.
The following streets are scheduled to be resurfaced:
Front Street, from Dock Street to Market Street,/li>
2nd Street, from Walnut Street to Market Street
3rd Street, from South Street to Chestnut Street
4th Street, from South Street to Chestnut Street
Operations for milling, adjusting and resetting of utility boxes will be scheduled from 9am through 5pm. Paving work will be performed from 4pm through 11pm. Temporary ‘No Parking’ signs will be posted in advance of each scheduled activity. Alternate parking will also be established around the work area. In the event a car is towed, please contact your local Police District to determine its location. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling around the work areas.
