PRESS RELEASE: STREETS DEPARTMENT TO HOLD MEETINGS ON SIGNAL UPGRADES AND TRANSIT PRIORITY
PHILADELPHIA - The City of Philadelphia Department of Streets, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will hold a public information meeting to discuss a proposed signal improvement project for Bustleton Avenue from Frankford Avenue to County Line Road.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Northeast Regional Library, 2228 Cottman Avenue. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with information regarding the project objectives and to gain input on the proposed design plans.
The objectives of the project are to upgrade the existing signal equipment to improve the safety and mobility of the corridor for vehicles, pedestrians and the operation of SEPTA fleet vehicles.
The project will include the replacement of fifty six (56) traffic signals, the installation of ADA ramps, and the implementation of Green Streets infrastructure. Construction is expected to begin in the Spring of 2014.
